SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A crash between a semi-truck and a motorcycle resulted in one death Sunday.

The Highway Patrol said in a press release that a 39-year-old man is dead early Sunday morning after colliding with a semi-truck on Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls.

Preliminary crash information states that the driver of a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was headed south on Interstate 29, slowing down to take the 26th Street exit. The driver of a 2013 Victory Cross Country motorcycle was headed the same direction and collided with the backside of the semi-truck.

The driver and passenger in the semi-truck were not injured. The motorcyclist died of his injuries.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
