SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s a big week ahead for a grocery store on wheels.

The Eat Well Sioux Falls Mobile Market is celebrating one year in business.

From milk to bread, shoppers can fill up their baskets at one of several stops each week. The market manager says fruits and vegetables are some of the most popular items.

“That makes me happy as a mom because we’re pushing out that product as soon as we’re getting it,” Market Manger Amber-Jones Esquibel said.

The market has served nearly 900 unique customers, a majority are returning shoppers.

“When we first opened it was by guess and by golly. Folks would show up and kind of look at us funny and wonder what in the world we’re doing in their neighborhood, but those folks who really understood it are the ones who come back. We have folks that follow it around. They know the inventory changes a little bit,” Sioux Falls Thrive CEO Michelle Erpenbach said.

People will have even more reasons to stop by October 7th through the 11th.

The anniversary celebration will include a 10 percent discount on purchases thanks to a donor, free COVID and flu shots at some stops, and more.

As the market continues rolling through Sioux Falls, everyone is invited to shop.

“Even if you’re not interested in shopping come by, check us out, see what we’re about,” Esquibel said.

The mobile market is operated by Sioux Falls Thrive.
