EAGAN, MN (Associated Press, CBS) — A U.S. congresswoman from Minnesota is the latest Democratic lawmaker to call on Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race following his poor debate performance.
Angie Craig, who represents a swing district in the state that includes the southern Twin Cities metro area, says Biden should step aside “and allow for a new generation of leaders to step forward.”
Biden has vowed to stay in the race and returns to the campaign trail Sunday with events in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, where new polling shows him trailing former President Trump by seven points.
