A woman from Mitchell, South Dakota, is one of the partners in a first-of-its-kind auction platform for beef sales that went live June 1, 2024.

Amanda Radke says BidOnBeef.com is another way consumers can purchase meat directly from the people who raised the cattle.

Before allowing a producer to sell their beef through their website, Radke says there is a vetting process.

While it may seem fairly common for people in rural areas, Radke says the auction and live auction processes are new experiences for many people.

She says once the auction winner is determined, the beef will be sent directly to them.

If people have questions about what the different cuts of beef are, what cuts would work best for a particular recipe, how to cook the beef or how their auction process works, Radke encourages people to contact them.

Radke says the goal is to empower consumers.

For shoppers, it’s free to join BidOnBeef.com.
