MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — The chief of police in Mitchell has retired.
After 24 and a half years with the Mitchell Police Department, Chief Michael Koster has retired.
Koster joined the Mitchell Police Department in 2000 as a patrol officer and became a patrol sergeant in 2006.
He was promoted to assistant police chief in 2014, becoming the chief of police in 2020.
Chief Koster’s last day was July 5th, 2024.
