Miss Mississippi competition kicked off Wednesday night with a preliminary night of competition at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
Preliminary rounds will continue tonight and Friday night and Saturday night will be the finale with the crowning of a new Miss Mississippi.
Contestants are split into three groups and each group competes in one contest every night through Friday night beginning at 7 p.m.
Thirty-one contestants are competing for the crown.
Wednesday night’s preliminary winners were:
Karsyn Ulmer who won the formal wear competition at Wednesday’s preliminary.
Abigail Church won Wednesday’s talent competition with a dance performance.

This year’s Miss Mississippi competitions will be streamed live Wednesday through Saturday night at missmisslive.com.
Tickets to live streams of the Miss Mississippi 2022 competitions vary in cost by night:
Preliminary rounds: 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday stream for $20 per night
Crowning of Miss Mississippi: 8 p.m. Saturday streams for $35
An all-access package to streaming all the night’s competitions is available for $82
Miss Mississippi final night will be aired locally in the Jackson area on WLBT-TV at 8 p.m. Saturday
The winner of the competition will represent the state at the next Miss America competition, which a date has not yet been set.
