SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —In case you missed it, a spectacular northern lights show arrived in KELOLAND last evening. I took these pictures between Canton and Beresford around 9pm. We expect a few more clouds today in KELOLAND and cooler temperatures. Sioux Falls will stay in the lower 70s this afternoon.
We sure could use some rain. Take a look at the latest drought monitor. The Sioux Falls are is now in severe drought. In fact, drought is expanding in all corners of KELOLAND.
Futurecast will remain dry this weekend. Highs will be cooler today in the upper 60s to lower 70s, but warmer weather should return tomorrow with highs back in the 70s for most areas. A second cold front will move into western KELOLAND during the afternoon, followed by much cooler weather for Sunday.

While the 7-day forecast remains dry, we do see some signals of rain chances by next weekend.
