MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — A large brush fire made its way into North Folk State Wildlife Refuge Wednesday night.
In a Facebook post from Monroe Fire Protection District, Monroe Fire confirmed they were called around 5:24 p.m. in response to reports of a rapidly progressive fire that burned through 15-17 acres.
The post reads, “The fire has currently been marked under control.” The Indiana DNR Fire is also helping MFD put out the flames.
MFD did not provide what caused the fire.
