Doug Coombe is an Ann Arbor and Detroit-based photojournalist — and frequent Metro Times contributor — with an eclectic photo collection spanning over three decades of Southeast Michigan music history. Coombe’s portfolio showcases generations of musical icons and underground heroes on display at this new exhibition, which aims to “lure you in with the photos of the local stars and, in the process, put some lesser-known yet equally talented musicians on the pedestal with them.” That includes the likes of Iggy Pop, Wayne Kramer, the Detroit Cobras, the White Stripes, and Eminem (just to name a few). Our Love Will Change The World opens Friday at The Ann Arbor Art Center and runs through Jan. 5.
