INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to killing 34-year-old Emmanuel Terveus after shooting him in a vehicle on the far east side of Indianapolis in 2022.
According to court documents, Ernesto Gillot pleaded guilty to one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder in late February after the June 2022 deadly shooting.
Gillot was sentenced to 45 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to the murder charge. At the same time, Gillot will serve two 30-year sentences with the 45-year sentence. The two 30-year concurrent sentences stem from the two respective attempted murder charges.
According to previous reports, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 3700 block of N. Mitthoefer on the evening of June 12, 2022, where they found a man, later identified as Terveus, who was shot inside of a vehicle. Terveus later died from his injuries.
