A man was fatally shot early Friday in a west valley neighborhood after an apparent argument, according to Metro Police. 

Office responded about 5:30 a.m. to the 600 block of North Yale Street in response to a shooting, police said in a release. Arriving officers found a man lying unresponsive in the street, and he was later declared dead at the scene. 

Detectives believe the victim was involved in an argument with an unidentified man in the middle of the street, police said. At some point, the argument escalated and the suspect pulled out a handgun, shot the victim and fled on foot prior to police arrival, according to the release. 

A description of the suspect was not given. The victim will be identified at a later date by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after family has been notified, police said.
