A suspect shot by Henderson Police this morning after a foot pursuit is expected to survive from his injuries, officials said.
Officers at about 7 a.m. responded to reports of a suspicious person attempting to break into parked vehicles in the 100 block of Metropolitan Drive, police said in a news release.
The suspect took off running once officers arrived, police said. During the pursuit, he produced what officers said appeared to be a handgun, and they opened fire.
The preliminary investigation determined the suspect was carrying a BB gun. They will later determine the capability of the suspected weapon, officials said.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital. No officers were injured.
