INDIANAPOLIS — A man was critically injured in a shooting on the near south side of Indianapolis Saturday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of South East Street around 10:14 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located an adult male victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
IMPD has indicated that the victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition.
Police confirmed that they detained a person of interest at the shooting scene. Detectives do not believe the shooting poses an ongoing threat to the public.
