INDIANAPOLIS — A police chase involving a stolen construction vehicle slowed traffic on Indianapolis interstates on Saturday.

According to a media notification from the Indiana Department of Transportation, police began chasing a person driving a stolen construction vehicle on Interstate 465 eastbound near East Street. The chase continued onto Interstate 65 northbound around 9:38 p.m.

INDOT reported that the stolen construction vehicle was moving at 4 mph during the chase.

Indiana State Police have confirmed that, as of 10:22 p.m., the stolen construction vehicle was no longer on any interstates. ISP indicated that its pursuit of the stolen construction vehicle continued on local Indianapolis roadways after the driver of the vehicle exited the interstate.

As of this article’s publication, INDOT and Indiana State Police had not provided any additional updates on the chase.
