Most people recognize it and, yeah, just make do.”As with most retailers, Crescent Springs Hardware is not immune to price spikes caused by inflation and inventory issues caused by dysfunctional supply chains.”Usually, we can keep a lot more on hand but given what’s been going on – it started early with just stuff not being able to make it here, transport-wise,” Ishmael said. “And then now we’re seeing a big press on, sort of components for manufacturing that are causing some delays.”Ishmael said tight supplies and increased costs put a premium on quality and the kind of customer service this hardware store is known for.”Our pricing, a lot of it, is set by the manufacturer,” he said. “And so those are just price points that not just us, but even the big box stores have to meet. So we like to just get a little bit of a step ahead on the back end to where when we sell it for you. It comes assembled, gassed up, ready to go. A lot of those places, you get it in the box, you get it home. It’s sort of your responsibility.”Ishmael encourages shoppers to research makers of big-ticket items, like mowers, to make sure they have quality parts that be worked on and repaired, should something go wrong.
