MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — A large fire broke out at a home in Monroe County on Saturday evening.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 7:30 p.m. on a report of heavy smoke. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire throughout the entire house. The garage was the only area not on fire.
According to the Monroe Fire Protection District, water was limited in the area, which required firefighters to set up dump tanks and shuttle water back to the fire.
One firefighter was injured during the blaze. They were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The homeowner was not injured.
The fire remains under investigation.
