“Obviously you want to win all the game, definitely want to win the ones on your side of the division and obviously the divisional games are the most important,” McBride said. “But I think this is a game that means a lot to us. We’re trying to get two in a row and kind of go on a little run here. I think this is the stretch where we need to get going and get a couple wins.”
The Cardinals are looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since 2021.
Each player has that one game that sticks with them as the season and their careers progress. For linebacker Kyzir White, he alluded to a game against the Raiders in 2021 when he was playing for the Chargers. Had they won, they’d crack the playoffs. They did not make it.
With that game in the back of his mind, the team captain emphasized the importance of each game.
“If you go out there and win every one, you ain’t got to worry about it,” White said. “If you take every game like it’s the most important, everything else will take care of itself.”
This is White’s seventh season in the league, and like McBride, Sunday will mark his first time playing at Lambeau Field. Krys Barnes, who sits a few spots away from White in the locker room, was on the Packers roster for three seasons and has shared stories of the hallowed grounds.
The venue certainly draws a lot of buzz for players, but White isn’t taking his eye off the prize of locking down the explosive Packers offense quarterbacked by Jordan Love, who will play in his third game since coming back from injury. He wants to replicate last weekend’s second-half shutout that concluded with his game-sealing interception.
“He’s just getting his feet back wet,” White said. “He’s a hell of a player, man. I know he’s going to come prepared, and we’re going to come prepared as well.”
