Aaron Carter once claimed to beat Shaq. Now can he take down Lamar Odom?
That’s the question facing the artist after news broke Wednesday that he and the 14-year NBA veteran were inked to a celebrity boxing match. TMZ, which broke the news, reports that Odom, 41, and Carter, 33, will reportedly fight in a three-round exhibition scheduled for June 12 — and that both are already training for their bout.
Damon Feldman, CEO of Celebrity Boxing, told TMZ he expects a great fight between the two.
“It’s gonna be a war, man,” Feldman said. “It’s gonna be a knockout, there’s no doubt.”
Odom might be the older of the two fighters, but he has a significant advantage in height: 6-10, to Carter’s 6-1. He should also have a significant advantage at a listed 230 pounds. Still, Odom hasn’t played in the NBA since 2012-13, but did play a season in the Big3 in 2019.
Either way, Odom will look to avoid the fate suffered by Nate Robinson, who suffered a brutal — and viral — knockout at the hands of YouTube personality Jake Paul in November.
Either that, or Odom will be the second basketball player Carter beats.
