LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Two Lafayette residents were arrested last month on drug and theft charges after they were found with methamphetamine during a theft investigation.
According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, 42-year-old Morgan Fultz and 31-year-old Dylan Mitton were arrested and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail on July 24 after a theft investigation.
In July, troopers with the Indiana State Police received a report that more than 250 ounces of silver coins were stolen from a home in Lafayette. During the investigation into the theft, troopers were able to locate and recover the majority of the stolen silver coins.
The investigation led to troopers issuing a search warrant for a home in Lafayette. The release said that during the search, troopers discovered methamphetamine, as well as various suspected stolen items, including more of the missing silver coins.
Mitton was arrested on the following preliminary charges:
- One count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony
- One count of theft of property, value between $750 and $50,000, a Level 6 felony
- A misdemeanor count of conversion and a misdemeanor count for possession of paraphernalia
Fultz was arrested for the following preliminary charges:
- One count of theft of property, value between $750 and $50,000, a Level 6 felony
- One misdemeanor count of assisting a criminal.
