LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Lafayette Police Department has arrested a man for possession of child pornography.
According to a press release, Lafayette police took 26-year-old Tadd Araya Buster into custody around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday. Buster has been preliminarily charged with possession of child pornography, which is a Level 5 Felony.
LPD reported that Buster’s arrest was the result of an extensive investigation that began in February. The department’s special victims and high tech crime units contributed heavily during the investigation.
Per Lafayette Police, the case pertained to both the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material.
In Indiana, the maximum penalty for a Level 5 Felony like possession of child pornography is a six-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000.
