SIOUX FALLS – Hank Kraft of Timber Lake repeated as B boys triple jump champion Thursday, one of the highlights for Central South Dakota athletes on the first day of the SDHSAA State Track & Field Championships at Howard Wood Field.
Kraft leapt 42 feet, 10 and a half inches. Brenden Begeman of Herreid/Selby Area was second at 42 feet, two and a quarter inches.
Winner was among several area teams to make finals in relay events. The Warrior boys were first in the A boys sprint medley relay prelims.
Ellie Brozik of Winner was second in the A girls triple jump. Skyler Volmer of Lyman finished second in the girls high jump. Sully Buttes’ Lydia Hill was third in the shot put.
