INDIANAPOLIS — A juvenile was shot on the near east side of Indianapolis Saturday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to The Union Apartments — which is located in the 2400 block of East Michigan Street — around 9:16 p.m. on a report of shots fired. While they were on their way to the scene, first responders received additional reports that indicated a person had been shot in the area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a juvenile male with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. IMPD reported that the boy was transported from the scene to Riley Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
The boy’s exact age is currently unknown. IMPD reported that the juvenile victim has been uncooperative with investigators thus far.
Police believe the shooting was targeted. IMPD indicated the victim told them he was in the area to visit some friends before he got shot.
