The Tennessee Titans lost another game on Sunday. This time, the Titans lost to the Jaguars, their 2nd loss of the season to their divisional rival.

Getting swept by a division rival is always a bad thing. It’s even worse when that division rival is also a terrible team. The Jaguars are just 4-12 on the season, but half of their wins have come against the Titans.

On Sunday, it was more of the same as what we’ve seen all season. The Titans’ offense was anemic, and the offensive line was atrocious again. Mason Rudolph was sacked three times and threw an interception.

Ultimately, the Titans fell 20-13. The silver lining is the team moved up in the 2025 NFL Draft order.

Final score: Jaguars 20, Titans 13

  • The Titans’ offensive line was horrible again. On the day, the line allowed three sacks and six tackles for loss. The unit was so bad and out of sorts that commentator Adam Archuleta correctly predicted a sack before it happened.
  • Turnover battle was lost again: The Titans lost the turnover battle for the umpteenth time on Sunday. Mason Rudolph threw a pick, and also fumbled but JC Latham was able to recover. The defense couldn’t force a single turnover from… Mac Jones.
  • The Titans look soft: Don’t tell Brian Callahan, but it’s true. The offensive line got bullied, the defensive line did nothing of note, and the receivers couldn’t get open. Nothing is inspiring about this team.

It was over when…

This game was over when the Jaguars went up 20-10 in the 4th quarter. Like I always say, it’s hard to believe this team has a shot to win when they get down by more than one possession.

With around seven minutes to play in the game, the Titans were down by 10 and I can almost guarantee every Titans fan turned the game off at that point.

Players of the Game

  • Tyjae Spears: Spears had a good game filling in as the starter for Tony Pollard. Spears rushed 20 times for 95 yards and also caught three passes on the day.
  • Calvin Ridley: Calvin Ridley wanted to have a big game against his former team and talk smack. Well, unfortunately for Ridley, he didn’t have the chance to do that, but he did have a nice game. Ridley caught five passes for 84 yards and also rushed once for seven yards.
  • Luke Gifford: Luke Gifford wore the green dot today- yeah, that’s how down-bad the Titans are. The veteran led the team with eight tackles and one pass deflection.

Injuries

Jaelyn Duncan left the game with a shoulder injury and was ruled out. John Ojukwu came in in relief. Duncan has already been out ruled out for Week 18.

Tyjae Spears was slammed to the ground and appeared woozy upon standing. The RB left the game and has already been ruled out for Week 18.

What’s next?

Head coach Brian Callahan will hold a Zoom call with the team’s beat writers on Monday afternoon before a few players are also made available.

Tennessee will return to practice on Wednesday ahead of a Week 18 game against the Houston Texans on Sunday, January 5, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Kickoff is TBD.
