SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The end of summer looms ever closer and the weather this season has been less than ideal for area farmers.
On this week’s Inside KELOLAND, we check in with the owners of Cherry Rock Farms about the struggles they’ve had this year, and what they’re doing to try and turn a profit.
Then we’ll sit down with a Master Gardener to see what you can do to prep your garden for cooler weather and why now is a good time to get the soil ready for next season.
After that we go to a different farm in Southwest Minnesota to check in on their apple orchards and pumpkin patches ahead of fall.
Finally, we’ll take a different approach to summer agriculture, a historical one. We’ll go to Plankinton to get a look at the state’s first grain palace.
