PITTSBORO, Ind. — A suspect who allegedly shot and killed another man two weeks ago in Indianapolis has been arrested in Pittsboro.

Multiple Hendricks County police agencies assisted Thursday in IMPD’s arrest of 33-year-old Myron D. King. The suspect is charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of 38-year-old Brandon Lewis earlier this month.

IMPD crews were called around 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 5 to the intersection of West 12th Street and North Tibbs Avenue for a person shot. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound in a nearby alleyway.

IEMS soon arrived and pronounced the man dead on scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office later identified the man as Lewis, ruling his death a homicide by gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation and IMPD said they were able to identify King as a potential suspect, but officials did not go into detail on the investigation. Violent Crimes Unit crews reportedly located King on Thursday and asked for assistance in his arrest.

Brownsburg police officials said that two officers were called to the scene to help with the arrest, which occurred during a planned traffic stop in Pittsboro. Other local agencies, including Pittsboro PD, helped IMPD with the arrest.

IMPD said that after being taken into custody, King was brought to headquarters and allegedly confessed to the shooting of Lewis. He was then arrested for murder and booked into the Adult Detention Center.

Online jail records have not yet been updated to reflect a bail amount for King. Online court records have not yet been updated to reflect an initial hearing date in his case.
