McCORDSVILLE, Ind. — An Indianapolis man is under arrest after a nearly yearlong investigation into a shooting.
Previous reports detail how police were called to the Villages at Brookside neighborhood on Dec. 13, 2023, on report of a robbery and shooting. Police found a 27-year-old man had been shot in his home and rushed him to the hospital.
McCordsville police called the shooting an “isolated incident” but for nearly a year there were no arrests.
On Thursday, that changed with the McCordsville Police Department announced the arrest of Brandon Cunningham, 40, of Indianapolis.
Cunningham faces one count of burglary resulting in serious injury, a Level 1 felony, and one count of robbery resulting in serious injury, a Level 2 felony.
“We are thankful for the commitment of our officers and the collaborative efforts of the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office,” said Paul Casey, chief of police of the McCordsville Police Department. “This arrest is a testament to our efforts in ensuring justice and protecting our community.”
No additional details were provided into what led investigators to Cunningham.
