INDIANAPOLIS — As Indianapolis continues to be impacted by severe winter weather, officials with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works said that trash pickup is still scheduled to occur on Monday with expected delays.

According to a statement from the Indy DPW, officials said that teams are working to address as many residential routes as possible on Monday.

“There will be some delays,” the statement read. “Those areas that experience delays will be serviced (Tuesday.)”

On the department’s website, officials provided specific instructions for trash pickup during winter weather. The department askes individuals to:

  • Place their cart and recycling bins on the curb in front of large snow piles
  • Clear a four-foot space on each side to allow space for collection trucks
  • Store the cart and recycling bins away from icy patches.
  • Shovel a path from the storage area to the residence and the street
  • Clear snow and ice from the trash and recycling carts regularly.
