BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – She vanished without a trace on New Year’s Eve 2014. Ten years later, Marina Boelter’s family is still searching for answers.

“We just want to know what happened. We deserve That. We don’t want to be left in the dark and live in this limbo the rest of our lives,” said Marina’s sister-in-law, Ashley Boelter.

“Each year doesn’t get any easier, it just becomes more manageable with coping skills. At the end of the day we still have no answers,” said Marina’s sister, Faith Boelter

Marina was only 18 when she finished her shift at a grocery store on Highway 231 in Bloomfield. She left to go home and was never seen again. According to Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw, her manager reported her missing the next day when Marina did not show up for work.

“Given the passage of time with no evidence of Marina’s whereabouts, nor any communication from her to friends or family, this is considered a death investigation.”

Marina was the mother of a young son. Her family describes her as outgoing, happy, and motivated as she tried to navigate, what at times, could be difficulties in life. They too believe Marina is dead. They said she would never just “disappear.”

“You see it on TV or in a movie and you think that will never happen to me. It happened to us,” added Ashley Boelter.

Marina’s family hopes someone will come forward with information that will help solve this case.

“You really don’t know what that could bring and that could bring peace to our family,” said Faith Boelter.

Investigators also hope someone will come forward with information on what happened to Marina

“It has been extremely frustrating in that despite countless hours of work by numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies we have not even been able to locate Marina, let alone determine what has happened to her. She was a young woman with a difficult set of life circumstances, with a young child of her own, living by herself and trying to make a better life. And she vanished,” said Prosecutor Holtsclaw. “It’s incredibly sad. And it’s been difficult for all of us in that we have been unable to solve this case. But, we are still trying”.
