INDIANAPOLIS — After deploying to Florida and North Carolina to help respond to the recent hurricanes, Indiana Task Force One is heading back home.
According to a post on its social media, the task force is “officially demobilized from its mission in response to Hurricanes Milton and Helene.”
The task force first responded to Florida on Sept. 24 to help with Hurricane Helene. Since then, the team was deployed to North Carolina and back to Florida in response to the additional storm.
“Over the past weeks, our team… tirelessly (assisted) communities impacted by back-to-back hurricanes,” the post read. “Thank you to our families for enduring this lengthy deployment.”
The post read that members of Indiana Task Force One are expected to be back in Indiana on Tuesday.
