A driver who was passing by the river saw the dog and reported it to authorities.When they arrived at the scene, they found the Boxer named Kobe stuck on the sandbar. They were able to cross the river and bring Kobe back to the store.While they were rescuing the dog, they said a passerby stopped and told the firefighter that he knew the owner of the dog. The man called the owner who met the rescuers at the scene.The owner told firefighters that Kobe ran away from home Wednesday night.”A cheerful reunion took place on the bridge and Kobe was safely on his way home,” the Columbus Fire Department wrote on Facebook.
