INDIANAPOLIS — A shooting on the west side of Indianapolis left one person dead and two others injured Monday afternoon.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of West Michigan Street around 2 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located a victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
Law enforcement subsequently located a second person in the area who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
The first victim IMPD found was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said the second victim is currently awake and breathing.
During an initial investigation and search of the area, police located a third individual who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. IMPD reported that the third victim was transported from the area to a local hospital in critical condition.
Police believe all three victims they found were involved in the same incident.
