INDIANAPOLIS — A search is underway on the city’s east side after a suspect allegedly fired a shot at a police officer.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said no officers were injured but citizens are being asked to avoid the area.
According to police, officers were called out to a residential area near 21st and Emerson shortly before 3:30 p.m. when a suspect allegedly fired a gun at a police officer.
Police said the incident occurred in the 5100 block of E. 20th Place. A SWAT team has been called out to the neighborhood as police continue to search for the suspect.
