INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after a person was found dead at a south side home after an initial call of a burglary. This is the same home where a homicide occurred in mid-October.

According to IMPD, officers were called to the 8400 block of Chateaugay Drive around 3 a.m. on Thursday on a call of a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a person with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the backyard of a home. The person was pronounced dead at the home, according to IMPD.

This comes after IMPD investigated a homicide at the same home in October. According to previous reports, officers were called to the home on Oct. 19 on a call of a death investigation.

When police arrived, they found 24-year-old Alisa Raufeisen with injuries consistent with trauma. Raufeisen was pronounced dead at the home.

Earlier this month, the Marion County Coroner’s Office officially determined that Raufeisen’s cause of death was a homicide, causing IMPD to investigate the incident as a homicide.

IMPD said that individuals with information should call the IMPD Homicide Office at (317) 327-3475 or email detective Christopher Winter at [email protected] in relation to the October homicide.

Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana by calling (317) 262-8477, using the P3Tips mobile app or visiting www.CrimeTips.org.
