INDIANAPOLIS — Indy metro police have arrested a 26-year-old nearly two months after a deadly triple shooting at an apartment complex on the city’s near northwest side.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Gerald Hatcher was located and arrested on Wednesday by the IMPD Violent Crimes Unit along with members of the United States Marshals Service.
Previous stories detail how officers were called to the 3400 block of Timbersedge Drive in Wildwood Village Apartments — an apartment complex located near 38th and Guion. At the complex, police found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
One person, 19-year-old Ivionte Campbell, ended up being pronounced dead at the scene from their injuries. The two surviving victims were taken to a nearby hospital.
IMPD said the shooting was an isolated incident with detectives eventually identifying Hatcher as a suspect. Now, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what charges Hatcher will face.
