INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a shooting that took place on Indianapolis’s northeast side Wednesday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, officers were called around 11:11 a.m. to the 4400 block of N Kitley Avenue on the report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, IMPD said they found an adult male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was initially transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
However, the victim was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital, IMPD said.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed a disturbance inside a residence. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, IMPD said.
