INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis woman was recently arrested in Las Vegas in relation to a fatal overdose in Indianapolis in March 2024.

According to court documents recently filed in Marion County, 28-year-old Jasmine Bowen has been charged with:

  • One count of dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 1 felony
  • One count of dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony

On March 15, 2024, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers with the east district were called to a home in the 10000 block of Snowdrop Way on a report of a person down. When officers arrived, they located 31-year-old Trey Williams who was later pronounced dead.

IMPD officials said that evidence at the scene reportedly indicated that Williams had overdosed. The Marion County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that Williams’ cause of death was an acute overdose.

As part of an investigation by the department’s homicide unit and the Overdose Death Task Force, detectives identified Bowen as the suspect. On March 27, 2025, a warrant was issued for her arrest in relation to the deadly overdose.

On March 28, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate. Bowen was taken into custody.

IMPD officials said that this is the seventh arrest in 2025 by the task force surrounding deadly overdose investigations. According to court documents, Bowen’s initial hearing is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
