INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead and another is critically injured after a shooting on Indy’s southwest side.
Indianapolis Metro police crews were called around 3:35 p.m. to the 1800 block of Howard Street for a person shot. Upon arrival, IMPD officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
IMPD confirmed Friday afternoon that one of the victims in the shooting has been pronounced deceased on scene. The second victim – who is reportedly in critical condition – is now receiving medical treatment.

This is already Indianapolis’ third deadly shooting of the New Year.
Late Thursday night, 29-year-old Sebastian Jones was killed and two others were wounded when police believe a gun sale turned violent at a home on Capsella lane on Indy’s southeast side.
A few hours later, 53-year-old Charles Arnold Junior was found shot to death just after 4 a.m. Friday in Crown Hill near 30th and Capitol.
