INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said one person is in critical condition after a shooting on the near west side of Indianapolis Sunday evening.
According to a news release from the department, officers responded to the 1600 block of W Vermont Street around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
When officers arrived, they located a person who reportedly had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Officials said that the person is in critical condition.
Officials with the department said at the scene that a family dispute reportedly led to the shooting. Two adult men were involved, one of which had gunshot wounds.
Officers said one of the men was transported to a local hospital in “very critical condition.”
The department’s night watch is currently investigating the shooting. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
