Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an illegal alien, Trinidad Alonso Meza Garcia, for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder on Monday, June 16.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 2:20 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 4700 block of Powell Avenue regarding a report of an assault.
Deputies entered the residence and found a man with wounds to his head, chest, and stomach area. The victim was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center and further transported to a Las Vegas hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Detectives identified the suspect as the 23-year-old Meza Garcia. Interviews with witnesses revealed a verbal altercation escalated into an assault, where Meza Garcia struck the victim in the head with a hammer several times and stabbed him with a knife. Meza Garcia then fled the scene on foot.
An Attempt to Locate notice was issued via radio and social media.
Shortly after, a phone call was received by a local business that believed Meza Garcia had been there. Further investigation led them to a residence in the 2400 block of Butler Ave, where Meza Garcia was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman where he is being held on the above charges, as well as an Immigration Hold.
