I-275 faces Tuesday night lane restrictions in Hamilton County

>> RICHARD ALLEN WAS BACK IN COURT TODAY IN CARROLL COUNTY INDIANA FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HIS ARREST AND INITIAL HEARING IN OCTOBER. TODAY’S HEARING CENTERED AROUND PUBLIC RECORDS AND WHETHER THEY SHOULD REMAIN SEALED. BUT THE BIGGEST DEVELOPMENT WAS WHAT THE PROSECUTOR SAID TODAY ABOUT A POSSIBLE SECOND SUSPECT. UNDER TIGHT SECURITY 50-YEAR-OLD RICHARD ALLEN WAS ESCORTED INTO THE CARROLL COUNTY COURTHOUSE THROUGH A SIDE DOOR. CAMERAS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE COURTROOM. WHERE THE COUNTY PROSECUTOR NICHOLAS MCLELAND SAID ALLEN MAY NOT HAVE ACTED ALONE A COMMENT THAT CAUGHT THE EAR OF ALLEN’S DEFENSE ATTORNEYS. >> ANOTHER PERSON INVOLVED? THAT IS NEW NEWS. >> ALLEN IS ACCUSED OF MURDERING 14-YEAR-OLD LIBBY GERMAN AND 13-YEAR-OLD ABBY WILLIAMS IN DELPHI, INDIANA IN 2017. HE WAS ARRESTED LAST MONTH. >> OUR CLIENT IS THE WRONG GUY. TODAY, DEFENSE ATTORNEYS ARGUED DOCUMENTS SURROUNDING ALLEN’S ARREST SHOULD BE UNSEALED. >> YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT PERSON OUT THERE MAY READ SOMETHING AND IT MAY RING A BELL AND MA CAUSED THEM TO APPOINT — — AND IT MAY CAUSE THEM TO POINT A FINGER. >> COUNTY PROSECUTOR NICHOLAS MCLELAND DOES NOT WANT THE PROBABLE CAUSE AFFIDAVIT RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC SAYING IT SHOULD REMAIN SEALED TO PROTECT THE INVESTIGATION. HE SAID THAT IF THE AFFIDAVIT WERE TO BE RELEASED WITHOUT REDACTIONS, WITNESSES COULD BE HARASSED. BUT DEFENSE ATTORNEY ANDREW BALDWIN SAYS HE WOULD EXPECT MORE FROM AN AFFIDAVIT AND HE’S NOT IMPRESSED WITH WHAT HE SAW. >> I HAVE A GUY WHO SAYS HE IS INNOCENT. WHAT I WOULD SAY IS IT IS A VERY FLIMSY AND PROBABLE CAUSE AFFIDAVIT. THOSE ARE THE TWO THAT WE KNOW. >> THE JUDGE SAID SHE WILL ISSUE A RULING ON WHETHER TO UNSEAL THE DOCUMENTS AT A LATER DATE. SHE DID NOT SPECIFY WHEN THAT WOULD BE. >> ALSO TODAY PROSECUTORS FILED A MOTION FOR A GAG ORDER. THE JUDGE SET A FEBRUARY 17 BAIL HEARING FOR ALLEN. MIKE: OK THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION. BREAKING RIGHT NOW A PILOT AND A , METEOROLOGIST WORKING FOR A TELEVISION STATION IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA DIED AFTER THE STATION HELICOPTER CRASHED NEAR I-77. SHREE: WBTV BROADCASTERS IDENTIFIED THE VICTIMS AS METEOROLOGIST JASON MYERS AND PILOT CHIP TAYAG. THE POLICE CHIEF SAYS IT APPEARS THE PILOT MOVED TO AVOID HITTING TRAFFIC AND NO CARS WERE INVOLVED. >> IT LOOKS LIKE A HEROIC INCIDENT WHERE THE PILOT TRIED TO AVOID INJURING ANYONE ELSE OR PUTTING ANYONE ELSE IN DANGER. SHREE: POLICE OFFICIALS SAY THE INTERSTATE WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL ABOUT MIDNIGHT AS THE INVESTIGATION INTO THIS CRASH CONTINUES. WE DO KNOW THAT THE FAA AND THE NTSB ARE INVOLVED. MIKE: THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAS ONCE AGAIN PAUSED THE PAYBACK OF STUDENT LOAN DEBT. AS THE PRESIDENT’S FORGIVENESS PLAN REMAINS TIED UP IN COURT BATTLES. BORROWERS WERE SET TO START REPAYING THEIR LOANS, AFTER JANUARY FIRST. PRESIDENT BIDEN SET THAT DATE BEFORE HIS DEBT CANCELLATION PLAN FACED LAWSUIT. NOW THE MORATORIUM WILL EXTEND UNTIL 60 DAYS AFTER THE LAWSUIT IS RESOLVED OR 60 DAYS AFTER JUNE 30. SHREE: THE JUDGE IS TAKING THE DEATH PENALTY OFF THE TABLE FOR GEORGE WAGNER IN THE FIRST PIKE COUNTY MURDER TRIAL. JURORS WON’T RETURN TO THE COURTROOM UNTIL NEXT WEEK, WHEN CLOSING ARGUMENTS BEGIN. BUT THE JUDGE CONTINUES TO HEAR ARGUMENTS FROM ATTORNEYS ON OTHER MOTIONS IN THE CASE. THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF BACK-AND-FORTH HERE. GEORGE’S BROTHER JAKE WAGNER AGREED TO PLEAD GUILTY AND TESTIFY AGAINST GEORGE IN EXCHANGE FOR PROSECUTORS DROPPING THE POSSIBILITY OF EXECUTION FOR HIM. MIKE: WARMING TOWARD THE 60’S BEFORE RAIN RETURNS TO THE FORECAST. SHREE: CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KEVIN ROBINSON SHOWS IF WET WEATHER WILL IMPACT THANKSGIVING RACES OR BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING. KEVIN: ONE OF THE WARMEST DAY THAT HE OVER A WEEK HERE IN CINCINNATI AND WE WERE INTO THE MID-50’S AND IT THIS AFTERNOON. AND FELT LIKE WE WERE COMING OUT OF THE DEEP FREEZE AND WE CONTINUE TO DO THAT AS WE MARK OUR WAY TOWARDS YOUR THANKSGIVING DAY ITSELF. MOST OF US ARE BETWEEN 50 AND 55 AT THE MOMENT AND IT IS 53 IN LOVELAND. HAMILTON IS AT 53, YOU ARE AT 53 IN LAWRENCE, MOST OF US RESTING BETWEEN 50 AND 55. IT IS MILD BUT IT WILL BE ANOTHER CHILLY EVENING AT NIGHT, CLEAR SKIES, QUIET CONDITIONS, TEMPERATURES HAVE NO PROBLEMS FALLING FAST THROUGH THE 30’S. WE ARE WATCHING AS WE HIT 60, AS WE CONTINUE TO WARM UP, OIL.COM WHAT THEY RAIN THREAT? — WILL THAT COME WITH A RAIN THREAT? WHILE NOT IMPACT YOUR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND — WELL THAT IMPACT YOUR HOLIDAY WEEKEND? SHREE: ANOTHER SCHOOL IS FIGHTING THE EFFECTS OF THE FLU RSV AND COVID TONIGHT. WALTON VERONA JOINS A GROWING LIST OF SCHOOLS TAKING ACTION. MIKE: WLWT NEWS 5’S BRIAN HAMRICK TAKES US INSIDE ONE PEDIATRICIAN’S OFFICE. BRIAN, WHAT ARE THEY SEEING? >> THE SHORTEST ANSWER IS, A LOT. PEDIATRICIANS OFFICES ARE PACKED AND A HIGH NUMBER OF KIDS ARE COMING IN RIGHT NOW. IT IS RSV AND COVID. THE FLU IS HAVING THE BIGGEST IMPACT. >> IT IS MY TIME TO SHINE! >> IF BEING CUTE WAS A CURE FOR CONTAGION LITTLE LENNON REESE AND HER TWIN SISTER ROSALIE. WOULDN’T EVEN NEED A FLU VACCINE. BUT THEY’VE COME FOR THEIR SHOTS. >> IS THIS THE FIRST OR THE SECOND? >> THE SECOND. >> BECAUSE WHAT VIRUSES ARE DOING NOW ISN’T PRETTY. THE FLOW OF PATIENTS INTO THE PEDIATRICIAN’S OFFICE IS LIK
