The Tennessee Titans are not having a good 2024 season. They’ve lost the first three games of the year and face the 1-2 Miami Dolphins this week, which may give them an opportunity to get a win under their belts if Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t play.

The Titans’ play over the first three weeks has been utterly terrible, though, and Tua being on the field doesn’t affect the Titans’ offense in anyway. Since Will Levis is responsible for every single turnover the Titans have in 2024, whoever lines up under center for the Dolphins has no bearing on what Levis will do.

If the Titans don’t change something, and change it soon, it’s going to be an incredibly long season where we see more of the same.

As we enter Week 4, here’s a look at where the Titans place in a multitude of power rankings.

Few teams spent as extravagantly during free agency … yet this one has only wound up proving it’s not the optimal way to construct a roster – but can make an 0-3 start feel significantly worse.

How long before the Titans realize Will Levis is a liability? Maybe they can insert Malik Willis. Wait—he is now on the Packers, who came into Tennessee and romped the Titans.

NFL Nation, ESPN:

The Titans’ offensive line has struggled to protect quarterback Will Levis, who has been sacked 15 times. Only the Browns have allowed more sacks. While not all of them can be attributed directly to the offensive line, the number of times players got beaten up front is alarming. Through three games, Tennessee’s 51.8% pass block win rate is the sixth worst in the NFL. The struggles in pass protection have made it difficult for coach Brian Callahan to call longer plays, especially in third-and-long situations. Levis has little time to scan the field and is under constant pressure. — Turron Davenport

We tried telling you the Titans wouldn’t be any good.

Tennessee has decent talent on both sides of the ball, but the offense is soft and led by a struggling second-year quarterback. Head coach Brian Callahan backed Will Levis after Sunday’s loss to the Packers, but he might have to bench the sophomore QB if his problems continue next week. The Titans are already in must-win mode.

The Titans need to consider a QB change with Will Levis in an absolute funk with his new personnel in the new offense. The new-look defense is doing its best to hold up but can wear down and give up too many big plays.

Frank Schwab, Yahoo! Sports:

It was unfair that the Titans were the first NFL team to three losses this season. They didn’t play that poorly in each of their first two games. But their QB is making backbreaking turnovers every game, so not much else matters.

Diante Lee, The Ringer:

Facing a fourth-and-2 while down by two scores to the Packers in the third quarter, Tennessee called a well-designed bootleg intended to get an easy conversion – as long as quarterback Will Levis got the ball out of his hands quickly. Instead, Levis kept the ball himself and, while still behind the line of scrimmage, attempted to hurdle over a defender. You’ll be shocked to hear that this brilliant decision didn’t work out. Green Bay put the game away on its next drive, and this season is in the tank because Levis can’t be trusted to not do the most ridiculous thing imaginable in critical moments.

Eric Edholm, NFL.com:

For the first time in almost a year, we have a new No. 32. QB Will Levis is up to eight turnovers now through three games, and those turnovers have led to 25 points for the opponents. Mind you, Tennessee has scored only 48 points as a team so far, and no more than 20 in any game. The mistakes are not all on Levis, as his offensive line has not protected him well at all. Levis was sacked eight times Sunday, with half of those coming on third and fourth downs. There might also be a play-calling element responsible for all the negative plays, but Levis has been too careless on throws outside the numbers, too shaky with his ball control in the pocket and too unaware of pressure closing in. It has been a terribly humbling start to the season for the Titans, even if they’ve been in every single game and probably should have at least one victory. This is a critical time for Brian Callahan. There are winnable games on either side of the Week 5 bye, but Tennessee looks far too sloppy right now.
