SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It will remain warm for the overnight, temperatures will fall to the middle to upper 60s, and some may wake up to temperatures in the lower 70s.
Expect light southeast winds.
Expect a hot and humid weekend, temperatures should easily reach the 90s in many locations. Southeast winds during the day tomorrow will help bring in thicker humidity. Expect dew points at least in the lower 70s.
With a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky, afternoon highs will range from the 80s in northeastern South Dakota to 100 in western South Dakota.
Sunday will be even hotter across Eastern KELOLAND. Those high dew point temperatures will combine with afternoon highs in the 90s, to bring our heat index values to the 100s across the east.
Use caution when spending any time outdoors and remember to stay hydrated.
We will try to slowly break the heat as we do go through next week, though I do see another warm-up midweek as temperatures return to the 90s in central and western South Dakota. At this point in time, I still see cooler temperatures by next weekend.
