INDIANAPOLIS –Area hospitals welcomed their first newborns of the New Year.
Angel Gael was born at 12:48 a.m. at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo. The little boy weighed 6, pounds 3 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.
He’s the first child for parents are Jennifer Esparza and Luis Guillermo. Mom and baby are both doing well, according to Ascension St. Vincent.
Eskenazi Health’s first 2025 birth was Dashka Estime Classonel, who was born at 1:12 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 21 inches.
Her parents are Anite Estime and Jacky Classonel from Indianapolis. She has two brothers and a sister. As of Wednesday afternoon, Eskenazi Health has welcomed 11 new babies so far in 2025.
Milo Heidinger was the first baby born at Riley’s Maternity Tower in 2025, making his grand arrival at 2:08 a.m.
His older brother and sister are excited to meet him. As of 11 a.m., six babies, including Milo, had been born at Riley’s Maternity Tower.
Lainey Goetz came into the world at 2:27 a.m. at Community Hospital North. She’s the first baby for parents Bethany and Robert Goetz of Indianapolis, according to Community Health Network.
Lainey weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long. Her parents received a congratulatory gift basket.
Just eleven minutes later, Hudson Dobbs was born at Community Hospital East.
He weighed 6 pounds, 10.7 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. He’s the second boy for parents Amanda and Justin Dobbs of Indianapolis. His mom is a nurse at the hospital.
Community Hospital North has maintained its nine-year streak of delivering the most babies in the state.
Franciscan Health Indianapolis welcomed its first new baby of the year at 9:06 a.m. Wednesday.
Tegveer Singh weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches in length. He’s the son of Navdeep Kaur and Amandeep Singh of Indianapolis.
As is tradition at the hospital, the public address system chimed “Jesus Loves Me” signaling the birth. The family received a gift basket containing items for mother and baby.
About 2,200 babies were born at Franciscan Health Indianapolis during the 2024 calendar year.
