The Colonels continued their strong play and some Bluebirds lit up the scoreboard once again on this Friday night. There were several dominant performances in Northern Kentucky as several teams made statements by winning big. NO. 12 COVINGTON CATHOLIC 43, BOONE COUNTY 0Covington Catholic brought its A game en route to a shutout over Boone County. The Colonels outgained the Rebels 444-218 in total offense including a dominant performance in the run game. CovCath rushed 30 times for 394 yards, taking a physical approach to dispatch Boone County Friday night and win their sixth straight game.The Colonels used a big second half to blow open a two possession game. Owen Leen was the catalyst for most of the night. The tailback rushed for 221 yards on only 16 carries to lead the charge. Leen scored three touchdowns on the night and was simply unstoppable for the Rebels.Quarterback Evan Pitzer rushed for a score and also added 50 yards passing through the air in the dominant victory. Tate Kruer anchored the shutout with six tackles as the Colonel defense only allowed eight first downs the entire game.Boone County got a great effort from quarterback Jamarion Hocker. The Bluebirds racked up 352 yards of total offense in a dominating effort that crossed both sides of the football.
