EVs available in 2023

Audi A6 E-Tron

The Audi A6 E-Tron EV is still just a concept car, but Audi has said that the vehicle is close to what the production car version will look like when it hits the roads in 2023. The E-Tron is built on a flexible chassis Audi is using for various sizes of EVs and will have 469 horsepower and 800-volt charging capability. This will give the A6 a range of up to 400 miles.

Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle

We’re not sure which lifestyle the Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle is promising, but this five or seven-seater EV is a pretty cool modular chassis-built vehicle that will have 350 horsepower and 200 miles of range. All this for a starting price under $40,000, and suddenly this becomes an attractive option. A delivery van version has 4500 pre-orders from Walmart, and NASA might use the Lifestyle Vehicle for transport at site launch for the upcoming Artemis moon landing missions.

Chevrolet Blazer EV

Chevy is busy making up for the sins of the fathers with a serious push to shift the entire GM lineup to all-electric vehicles by 2030. It’s ambitious, but probably doable as this tight-lipped automaker never announces a new product until it can compete in the marketplace. Chevy has been working for years already designing a new EV lineup, and this year the rollout begins. The Blazer EV will offer 557 horsepower on a high-end version of the SUV and a lower performance option for budget conscious customers. Chevy is aiming for 320 mile range certification for the EV RS model with long range. The first version of this new EV will be available in late 2023 with more versions rolling out in 2024.

Chevrolet Equinox EV

Chevy is taking a risk shifting its Equinox (which in 2022 sold over 212,000 units to beat out the Ford Escape and Subaru Forester for sales) to an EV. The Equinox EV will start at a super affordable $30,000 in fall 2023, and this vehicle also will come with multiple versions and options, including base trim 250 miles of range and 210 horsepower to start. Higher end models come with 300 miles of range with a better battery pack and 290 horsepower with all-wheel drive. If you haven’t driven an EV before, seriously consider one with AWD if you have rougher roads. It’s well worth it, and the Equinox EV is an affordable way to get this feature for harder driving vehicle owners.

Chevrolet Silverado EV

The new Chevrolet Silverado EV will use GM’s new Ultium battery pack for 400 miles of range. This vehicle is set up to range from fleet-purposed basic daily driver trucks to loaded RST models that are available with 664 horsepower. Chevy promised us 30 new EVs by 2025, and the first Chevy electric pickup will be produced starting this year.

Faraday Future FF91

This one you may not have heard of. The Faraday Future FF 91 was unveiled in 2017, with 1050 horsepower from a trio of electric motors that offer a zero to 60 mph time of only 2.4 seconds. The Future is a crossover with a long wheelbase, but the Faraday company has struggled financially. It took until late 2022 before Faraday could announce a 381-mile range rating from the EPA. They started plans to build FF 91s in California beginning in spring 2023. This EV will set you back a pretty $200,000, though, so it’s not your daily driver.

Fisker Ocean

Fisker has revived again with another stylish EV design. This time the Fisker Ocean, a 300-mile-range electric SUV with solar roof, should finally take off. The Ocean can go 350 miles max with all-wheel drive, but there will also be an entry-level version of the SUV that will have 250 miles of range and start at $39,000.

EVs available in 2024

Acura ZDX EV

The Acura ZDX EV coming in 2024 will be an all-electric SUV from Honda’s premium brand, based on the new Honda Prologue that was built in collaboration with GM. The Precision EV concept previewed this practical but smooth EV, and expect to see a Type S performance variant of the vehicle with higher horsepower and a sportier look.

Buick Electra

Yes, Buicks are still around, but the automaker has dug deep into its past to name the company’s newest EV. The 1959 Electra inspired an all-new electric SUV from the brand, but this Electra E5 is expected to slot into an all-new lineup of E-numbered Buicks that will fill out the automaker’s new electric vehicle lineup starting in 2024. The expected range is 300 miles with 340 horsepower. The full Buick lineup should shift to all electric options by 2030.

Cadillac Celestiq

We think Cadillac’s aim might be a little off for their rebranding to reclaim their rightful standing in the luxury car market. The company’s newest EV called Celestiq will be hand built and cost over $300,000. Cadillac is aiming to recreate their brand as aspirational to compete with Rolls Royce and Bentley, but it’s missing a bit of groundwork on that ambitious effort. Don’t get us wrong, Cadillacs are still fabulous cars, but almost no one is going to order a $300,00 EV with 600 horsepower and a hatchback.

Canoo Pickup Truck

A very persistent upcomer in the EV market is Canoo, which designs weird-looking pickup trucks in California. The new Canoo truck is just called Pickup Truck, but it secretly is packing more than 500 horsepower and a 200-mile range. It’s a small mid-size pickup that might be offered with a longer bed. Believe it or not, the U.S. Army is testing a version of the Pickup for military use, so it must work better than it looks.

Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV

Now Dodge is definitely not known for supporting the EV revolution, but the company has finally decided to stay relevant with an all-electric muscle car. The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept has 800 horsepower, and since the automaker named their new electric architecture Banshee, we assume this motor can scream. Dodge isn’t releasing specs on this EV yet, but promises the new EV will outperform a Hellcat.

A multi-speed transmission is one of the interesting innovations Dodge is planning to explore with this vehicle, which could open up more range of speed and acceleration. As if current EV sports cars didn’t have enough pep from the line. Maybe a bit cringe is Dodge’s continued decision to pipe the EV’s sound to a 126-decibel blast via a Fratzonic exhaust system. I think maybe we need to go over the concept of an EV again with Dodge, but we do wish them luck retaining their motorhead customers that love traditional (and noisy) muscle cars.

Fiat 500e

Fiat is only planning one EV at the moment, called the 500e minicar. It’s based on a current European model of the car that puts 117 horsepower and 160 miles of range in a car with retro modern style. This isn’t much range for the vehicles the 500e will compete with, but we expect this vehicle to appeal to people wanting a smaller more retro EV that is compact and good for a short daily commute.

EVs available in 2025

Alfa Romeo Giulia EV

Alfa Romeo has converted a gas-powered Giulia to an EV version, pulling out the Ferrari-derived V6 for an all-electric powertrain in 2025. The car is expected to clock in at 350 horsepower. Higher-end versions may include horsepower up to 1,000, and the high-performance car will be made with 800-volt fast charging capabilities and a 500-mile range.

Five Bentley Models

Bentley is finally shifting from a luxury legacy brand making chauffer vehicles to a new line of fully electric models that are sportier in nature. The existing ICE lineup will be switched out for a new lineup of all the automaker’s vehicles, a huge shakeup at this classic but traditionally aloof brand. The rollout of new electric Bentleys starts in 2025 and continues through 2030 ending with an all-new model never seen before in gas-powered version.

Chevrolet Corvette EV and SUV

A fully electric Corvette has been confirmed to be coming in 2025. This vehicle will use the same battery platform as other GM EVs, which should be adequate. The E-Ray hybrid will be released a bit later than expected, which was originally planned first. Corvette is also planning other vehicles via a sub-brand within GM, meaning you might soon see Corvette branded sedans and crossovers. Odd, but maybe workable if Mustang’s Mach-E is any guide to success.

Chrysler Airflow Concept

Chrysler is hoping to compete with the uber-successful Mach-E by creating a 400-horsepower Airflow EV by 2025. The concept Airflow is being turned into a production model planning Level 3 autonomous driving capability for drivers that want to relax behind the wheel. Chrysler is planning to shift to fully electric lineup by 2028, and it starts here.

Deus Vayanne

Austrian auto startup Deus is creating an electric hypercar called Vayanne with some established partners in the industry. Italdesign has created curvy bodylines to match with a 2200-horsepower motor made by Williams Advanced Engineering. The Vayanne claims to accelerate to 62 mph in 1.99 seconds with a 248-mph top speed. The Vayanne controls all that power with 1475 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot more than you or I need for a family vehicle, so only 100 units are planned for production in 2025.

EVs available in 2026

Apple Titan EV

Yes, an Apple Titan EV, not an Apple TV. The rumored Apple car called Titan has been in development for nearly 10 years, which made many question its future. It is now supposed to arrive in 2026, according to the rumor mill. The company seems to have dropped plans for a fully autonomous car and will produce the Titan EV in a more conventional design than previously planned (the car used to look like a pod). Talks with automakers to supply an electric vehicle platform fell through in 2021, but Hyundai is still said to be investing about $1 billion every year into this project alone.

BMW i5 M

BMW is serious about EVs, so their i5 M, bearing the sports line moniker of the brand’s high-performance vehicles, will still be as excellent as their traditional gas-powered sports cars. The high-end i5 M will boast 1136 horsepower from four motors and come with regenerative braking. The car is designed to drift and do spinouts despite being built as an all-electric new model. First comes the normal i5 EV with high-performance batteries and sporty suspension and steering, and then the M edition will be released in 2026.
