SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Harrisburg completed its second consecutive undefeated season as it claimed its third straight Class ‘AA’ volleyball championship with a four-set win over Washington Saturday night. The Tigers have won 78 matches in a row.
The top seed won each of the first two sets before the Warriors eeked out a 26-24 win in the third to avoid the sweep. Harrisburg closed it out 25-13 in the fourth.
Gabi Zachariasen tallied 28 kills and 11 digs. Bergen Stiff also contributed double-digit kills with 10. Josalyn Samuels distributed 51 assists.
Kaelyn Snoozy paced Washington with 19 kills, and Cate Legel added 14.
Harrisburg went 31-0, while Washington finished 22-5. This is the Tigers’ sixth title, all in the last 20 years.
