SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Harrisburg Gold and the Renner Royals both protected home field and claimed playoff-opening wins Thursday.
Post 45, the top-seed in the Class A playoffs, blasted Rapid City Post 320 10-0. Harrisburg scored two runs in the second before blowing the game open with six in the third.
Post 307, the third seed, also claimed a 10-0 shutout win over Spearfish. Renner led 1-0 in the third before scoring five runs in the bottom of the frame and added two more in the fourth.
Both, Harrisburg Gold and the Renner Royals, will look to punch their tickets to the state tournament on Friday.
