SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Millbank Fire Department rescued a man from a grain bin Monday afternoon.
According to a news release, a male victim was trapped in beans in a steel grain bin while crews were moving grain.
The victim was against the outside wall. Firefighters used specially designed “grain tubes” to remove grain around the victim.
Hydraulic spreaders were also used to keep tubes from caving. A hole was cut on the opposite side of the bin to let the remaining grain out and to prevent it from coming down on the victim or the rescuers.
No one was injured in the incident.
