Godlewski: “As your Senator, I will never sit by and allow our rights to be stripped away.”

MADISON – The Sarah for Wisconsin campaign today launched a new six-figure, statewide TV ad assailing Ron Johnson and the far-right’s attacks on reproductive rights after reports that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The ad was shot at the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court and is the first Senate campaign in the country to air a spot on abortion rights since the bombshell report dropped late Monday evening.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade makes choice and reproductive freedom a frontline issue in Wisconsin in the 2022 elections, and the hard-hitting ad highlights the cruel abortion ban that would go into effect without Roe, putting doctors in jail for performing a safe procedure.

TRANSCRIPT (WATCH THE AD HERE)

Sarah Godlewski: I’m Sarah Godlewski. I’m at the Supreme Court, where it looks like Ron Johnson is gonna get exactly what he wants. Overturning Roe v Wade. Reinstating Wisconsin’s cruel abortion ban. And putting doctors in jail.

But that’s not what Wisconsinites want. We don’t want politicians making health care choices for women.

I’m Sarah Godlewski, and I approve this message because as your Senator, I will never sit by and allow our rights to be stripped away. Join me. Let’s fight back and defeat Ron Johnson.

Ron Johnson has called Roe v. Wade “a real tragedy,” suggested people “can move” if don’t they like the abortion bans in their state, and has advocated for the Supreme Court to hold up Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a direct challenge to Roe.

As the only woman in the race for Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate seat, Sarah Godlewski has been loud, clear, and unwavering about her commitment to protecting abortion rights. Sarah has been sounding the alarm for months that Democrats needed to protect the right to abortions in this country. Following the leak on Monday night, Sarah joined protestors at the U.S. Supreme Court. This ad is not the first ad the campaign has launched on abortion rights; last fall, her campaign launched a six-figure, early voter contact digital campaign leading with the ad “Afterthought.”
