GALVESTON, Ind. — A Galveston man has been taken into custody after a nine-month investigation into child molesting allegations.
According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, 61-year-old Jerry Norris was preliminarily charged with:
- Two counts of child molesting, a Class A felony
- One count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class B felony
- One count of child molesting, a Class C felony
- One count of attempted child exploitation, a Class C felony
- One count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Class D felony
- Two drug-related misdemeanors
The release said that Norris was taken into custody on Wednesday morning. This comes after an investigation began in March surrounding claims that Norris had “improper contact” with a juvenile in Cass County.
At the end of the investigation, officials said in the release that the case was presented to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office. An arrest warrant and a search warrant were then obtained for Norris.
Norris was located at his home on Wednesday. The release said a search of his home uncovered multiple electronic devices, suspected marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. Norris is incarcerated in the Cass County Jail.
